The condition of the police officer was not immediately known. The shooting occurred in the area of Landale Street, just east of Laurel Canyon Avenue, near the Campbell Hall Episcopal School just before 8 p.m., the CHP said. Video from the AIR7HD showed several law enforcement officers gathered in the area as they searched for clues. The AIR7HD was followed by an ambulance, believed to have transported the officer, from the scene to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The ambulance was accompanied by several police units. A large police presence surrounded an apartment complex in the area of Saticoy Street and Haskell Avenue in Van Nuys, where the perpetrator is believed to be. A car matching the description of the suspect vehicle was found near the apartment complex. It was not immediately clear if anyone had been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
