His response came on Friday’s CCTV video of a woman being attacked in a Tangshan restaurant, where she was repeatedly trampled and attacked.
According to a police statement, nine men were later identified as suspects and arrested.
One of the men started the attacks after the woman pushed him away. He allegedly approached her and touched her on the back as part of a sexual promotion.

The main perpetrator also had a history of rape and murder, according to a China Press report.
Chan posted on his Weibo – China’s largest social networking platform – that his incident was revealed yesterday by one of his staff.

“I was really angry,” he said. “It was very sad that only the women stood up to help each other throughout the incident. All the men around [them] they were indifferent. ”
Chan stressed the importance of defending those who are vulnerable.
“When we see bullying, if we can stop it, we have to stand up. [to it]. Because such a time is to help others [also] helping ourselves! “
