On Monday afternoon, Kawartha Lake Police Sergeant Deb Hagarty shared the sad news via a video on social media. He said members of the OPP Underwater Search and Retrieval Unit found Draven dead in the Scugog River around 3:30 p.m., just over 24 hours after the young man went missing. “Everyone involved has a heavy heart right now. “We encourage each of you to continue to support the family, allowing them to mourn during this traumatic period,” Hagarti said. Draven has been missing since Sunday afternoon (June 12). Last seen on Queen Street. Since then, Lindsay’s community and emergency crews have teamed up to look for Draven in the backyards, on the riverbanks and on the trails. “We would like to thank everyone in the community for all their support,” Hagarti said. “And all of our emergency services involved in this extensive investigation, including multiple units of the OPP, Peterborough Police, Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue Service, Kawartha Lakes Medical Services and volunteer search teams.” Hagarti said anyone affected by the news was encouraged to seek support. Just hours before Draven was spotted, Justin Graham’s father remained optimistic. He said Draven, who has autism, often hid. Many speculated that Draven had found his way to the water’s edge after his T-shirt and pants were found on Caroline Street shortly after his disappearance. Graham felt that Draven took off his clothes because they were wet from the rain and did not like to wear wet clothes. No further details have been released by Kawartha Lake Police at this time.
