The recent trailer has been shown again, along with some limited gameplay. Director Yasuhiro Anpo and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi also appeared to share some more details. Anpo and Hirabayashi have confirmed that the game is a “re-fantasy” of the original 2005 game and that they want to retain the identity of the original game, but update it with modern edges. They want to make sure it retains the “fear and loneliness” of the original game, while still engaging in exciting battles.

Played now: Resident Evil 4 Full presentation and game | Capcom Showcase 2022
The game retains the third person perspective as expected, and Anpo and Hirabayashi said it will be familiar to anyone who has played the recent Resident Evil 2 or 3 remakes. In the limited gameplay that appears, we saw Leon (who looks more close to how he appeared in the remake of Resident Evil 2 from the original Resident Evil 4) walking in dense forests and sinking under various vines. There were no shots fired in the video.
Ganado has been completely redesigned for the remake.
Resident Evil 4 is the third full remake the series has seen since 2019, with Resident Evil 2 and 3 already receiving treatment. So far, there is no news of a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, often referred to as the “real” Resident Evil 3, whose title represents more of its original release as a Dreamcast game than any kind of spin-off status.
Resident Evil 4 is released on March 24, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X | S and PC (via Steam).
