On June 11, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered a keynote address at the annual 19th Shangri-La Dialogue Regional Security Summit. The summit in Singapore is a unique meeting where government ministers meet to discuss current security challenges and to establish bilateral discussions. President Zelensky replied: “People should always support any action related to precautionary measures to prevent violence, to prevent war, because there are no positive aspects that come from war.” Although Chinese President Xi Jinping did not name himself, Zelensky stressed that political leaders “are not satisfied with the current level of their ambitions” and want to “continue to increase their appetites and ambitions.” More from NextShark: Man with 5 daughters cuts pregnant woman’s stomach to find boy Despite the role of the world in allowing some such political leaders to thrive, Zelensky said there was a need for a global “diplomatic solution” that would help countries – such as Taiwan – that need help. “We must not leave them at the mercy of another more powerful country,” he said. Citing Ukraine as an example of what will happen when war breaks out, President Zelensky stressed a “precautionary” diplomatic solution. “Millions of people… have been forced to flee their homes,” Zelensky said, referring to Ukraine. “There is a huge number of risks for other countries due to the immigration crisis, the refugees. “War does not benefit anyone, except the ambitions of some people.” The story goes on More from NextShark: American MMA fighter Jared Brooks uses the word Tagalog to speak of Philippine ONE champion Joshua Pacio “This is it,” the president concluded. “People should take precautionary measures against such people.” Selected image via CNA More from NextShark: ‘No Crisis’: NYT Reporter Defends Writing Asian Americans ‘Overrepresented’ in Figure Skating Do you like this content?
