Lake Okanagan is just five inches from the full pool. As of 7:25 a.m. Monday, Environment Canada estimated the lake level at 342,430 meters. The full pool is 342.48m. In 2021 Lake Okanagan was about 341.88 meters. Early Monday morning, Environment Canada issued a special weather statement due to prolonged rainfall in parts of BC Interior. The rains will start on Monday and will continue until Tuesday. Total amounts of rainfall are expected from 20 to 40 millimeters before the rain subsides during periods of light rainfall on Tuesday afternoon. “There is some uncertainty related to the exact trajectory of the low and this will be a factor that affects the amount of rain in each area,” Environment Canada said in a statement. “River levels are expected to rise on Monday and Tuesday in response to rainfall and continued snowmelt on higher ground.”
“It is advisable for the public to stay away from fast rivers and potentially unstable riverside during high flow periods. Be prepared and aware of your risks.
