The lockdown at Jean Augustine High School was imposed around noon after police received reports of a man shooting a wall in the neighborhood.
Investigators searched the area near Elbern Markell Drive and Bovaird Drive, where the man was reportedly seen, but could not find any evidence of gunfire.
The lockdown was then lifted around 2 p.m.
In a message posted on Twitter, police said investigators are continuing efforts to locate the man.
No injuries were reported.
