Merseyside police rushed to Hardy’s Bar on Matthew Street around 6:25 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, following reports of a man being found unconscious. Upon arrival, police found that the victim, a man in his 30s, was unconscious after being attacked at a bar. The man was rushed to hospital by the Ambulance Service of the Northwest, where he remains in serious but stable condition. An eyewitness told ECHO that multiple police patrol cars and ambulances were on the scene after the initial 999 call. An investigation has been launched into the incident and CCTV investigations, witnesses and medical examiners are continuing. Police officers remain at the scene today, Monday 13 June, while the investigations continue and anyone who has any information is requested to contact the police. Inspector Detective David Jones said: “We are investigating an attack in Liverpool this weekend that left a man injured. Mathew Street would be very busy on Saturday afternoon. “I would urge anyone who was at Hardy’s Bar around 6pm and saw the attack take place, please contact us and assist with our investigations, as your information could be vital to the investigation.
