The bomber struck shortly after 6:40 p.m. Saturday (June 11) on a path between Brook Road and Mill Lane in Cheadle, police said.  A woman was walking alone along the wooded path to the back of Alexandra Hospital when she noticed a man walking behind her. 

A few minutes later, a male ran in front of the victim and headed in the direction of the Cheadle Mill. Shortly afterwards, a male, believed to be the one who had previously run, grabbed her bottom before pulling on her T-shirt and hair. Police have released an original photo of the back of a man he wanted to talk to after a series of investigations. This morning (Monday) they published a new photo of the male. His face is depicted and he appears to be running and wearing sports clothes. Anyone who recognizes him is invited to appear. A tweet from GMP Stockport said: “Detectives at #Stockport have posted a further picture of a man they believe may have information about a sexual assault that took place in #Cheadle on Saturday, June 11.
