The TROPICS mission included two cubicles destined to unite the existing NASA constellation of the same name. The Astra Rocket 3.3 launch vehicle took off as scheduled from the Cape Canaveral in Florida on Sunday, but despite the good performance of the first stage of the Astra, the second stage encountered a problem and closed before delivering its payload to the intended track. We had a nominal first stage flight. The upper stage closed early and we did not deliver the payloads on track. We shared our grief with @NASA and the payload team. This mission took off from Kodiak, Alaska. The Astra has not yet flown a successful mission from Florida. The company was listed on the stock exchange through a SPAC merger in 2021 and its share price fell by almost 24% before the market opened.
