The Cambridges were reportedly invited to Lilibet Diana’s first birthday party at Frogmore Cottage on Saturday, June 4, but were spotted at a Jubilee show in Cardiff. However, they wished happy birthday on Twitter. The @KensingtonRoyal page wrote: “We wish Lilibet happy birthday, which is now one year old!” Harry and Megan reportedly left the UK before the Jubilee celebration – their first joint outing at a major royal event in two years – ended. They left as senior members of the royal family in 2020 and have now settled in Montecito, California. The Sussexes made a series of explosive claims about the company in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021. The high-profile interview shocked the Atlantic and led to a statement from Buckingham Palace, which said the issues within the royal family would be dealt with “privately”. Harry returned to the UK alone in June 2021 to unveil a statue of Princess Diana and William in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace to mark the 60th birthday of the Princess of Wales. Various sources have suggested that William and Harry have been in talks since. However, a friend of William’s spoke to The Sunday Times about the rupture. They said: “He is still deeply upset about this and he feels frustrated, but he has moved on.” Kensington Palace declined to comment. On Saturday, an article was published in The Sun newspaper, according to which Harry and Megan had a brief and “formal” meeting with the 96-year-old queen, on their return to Britain. He suggested that the Sussex spend 15 minutes with the monarch. A source told the newspaper: “It was a quick job inside and out. “It was all very formal.” Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the meeting.
