Rebel Wilson commented on Twitter after an Australian newspaper was accused of “expelling” her.

  In May, Rebel said she was “happily in a relationship” with someone she had been dating – but did not choose to reveal who she was dating, and her spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment from Page Six at the time.

  Then, on Thursday, Rebel posted a photo with her girlfriend, Ramona Agruma, on Instagram.  The caption read, “I thought I was looking for a Disney Prince; but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney princess.”


  While Ramona had appeared on Rebel’s Instagram and attended events with the actress in the past, it was the first time Rebel had publicly confirmed that she was in a relationship – leading many to call the post public about Rebel.

  However, on Saturday, the Sydney Morning Herald published an article saying that they contacted Rebel on Thursday and gave her two days to comment on her relationship “before posting a single word”.

  “Big mistake,” author Andrew Horneri said of approaching Rebel.  “Wilson chose to dedicate herself to history by posting about her new ‘Disney Princess’ on Instagram early Friday morning, the same platform she used in the past to brag about her handsome ex-boyfriend, the rich American beer baron Jacob Bush. ”

  The article goes on to imply that anti-LGBTQ fanaticism is no longer a big issue in the film industry:


  She also suggests that it would be okay to post an article about Rebel dating a woman because she posted about her “hunting friend” on Instagram and publicly speculated to be heterosexual:

  The track went viral on Twitter, with many accusing the post of “rebelling” Rebel:

  The newspaper published a follow-up that denied that Rebel had been “cut off”, claiming: “We just asked questions and as usual practice included a deadline for an answer.  “I had not made a decision on whether or not to publish, and the Herald’s decision on what to do would have been informed by any of Wilson’s responses.”

  Rebel herself later responded to a tweet saying: “Obviously it was not Rebel Wilson’s choice to go out – SMH admitted that they had given her the head two days earlier that they were going to ‘take her out’.
