Sunday’s 18-4 Cubs loss to the Yankees was somewhat like that. It was like going to an MLB video game and turning all the Yankees into the “best” and the Cubs into the “worst”. It was like an MLB team playing an A-ball team. It was like a bifurcated Spring Training team with a bunch of underage champions playing the defenders of the World Series champions. It was like … you got it. In short, it was a complete and utter embarrassment for the Chicago Cubs franchise, and yes, I mean every person related to it, from President Tom Ricketts to the interns and staff of the day, even though most of the two last teams had nothing to do with depositing this franchise in the basement of Major League Baseball. I’m not doing well here either. See what I said in the game preview: Thompson has never faced the Yankees. The only Yankee to face him is Matt Carpenter (0-for-3). I guess I wrestled with Thompson there, right? Not only did I fight Keegan Thompson, who failed to get out of the first inning and walked the Carpenter with the bases loaded, I obviously fought all the Cubs staff. Carpenter kicked twice and doubled to seven top-of-the-course career tracks. Guess who had the other game with seven RBIs? Of course, you do not have to guess, you know it was the Cubs on July 20, 2018 at Wrigley Field. In that game, after Carpenter went 5-for-5 with four series and seven RBIs, Cardinals manager Mike Shildt – who was literally managing just his third game for St. Louis. Louis – pulled him in when he had the chance to hit a quarter at home in this game. It’s like Carpenter seeing the Cubs’ blue uniforms and becoming a Hall of Fame talent. Even before this game, Carpenter had 23 career homers against the Cubs, more than any other team. He was not good at all since 2018 and was released from a minor-league deal by the Rangers. The Yankees sign him and make a boom – he has won six home games in his first 10 games as Yankee. No other Yankee has ever done this. Welcome, Yankis. I will save you from the rest of the massacre. The Cubs actually had a 1-0 lead in this game when Ian Happ scored two outs in the first inning. [VIDEO]. Then … so, as I said, I will not go through all this. You have suffered a lot. Hap also stood out and tripled and was on deck when PJ Higgins lined up to finish the game, which almost sums up this game and the season for the Chicago Cubs. A cycle of Cubs in a 14 run loss would be at least fun, but we do not even realize it. Instead, we made Frank Schwindel do this: Some numbers:

The Cubs prevailed 28-5 in this series The Cubs prevailed 37-8 on the road trip, in which they lost all four games The Cubs just can’t hit with RISP, as shown here:

The Cubs are now unbeaten in their last 45 bats with runners in scoring position. BY ILIAS: This is the biggest streak from any team in the last 40 years. In total, the Cubs have now lost six consecutive defeats, their longest losing streak in 2022, and lost 49-15 since the last time they won a game (the first biceps game on June 4 against the Cardinals).

I have more thoughts on the Chicago Cubs baseball team, but I save them for an article tomorrow morning. Do not miss it. It will not be beautiful. The Cubs return home to start a series of seven games on Monday, starting with a series of three games against the Padres. With an 11-20 record at Wrigley Field, that should be fun, right? Justin Steele will start for Cubs Monday and our old friend Yu Darvish will receive the call for Padres. The time of the game is 7:05 p.m. CT and TV coverage will be through the Marquee Sports Network.
