E3 may have taken off in 2022, but the show has to go on. The big one today is the Xbox’s annual showcase, which shares the title charge with the only first-person studio to release games on the PS5 only since it was acquired by Microsoft in the run-up to the presidential election. In 95 minutes, the Xbox unveiled a ton of games from all of its work. Some were new. Others have been announced before. And, of course, the Game Pass logo was literally everywhere. Overall, the show was … a lot. Here’s everything the Xbox showed in the big 2022 press conference, in descending order of amazing.
Starfield looks very, very big
It was beginning to seem like it would never happen, but finally, Bethesda finally showed more than eight seconds of footage for Starfield, the next open world role-playing game. First announced in 2018, Starfield was originally scheduled to be released on November 11, 2022, but recently fell in the first half of 2023. Hollow Knight Silksong is coming to Game Pass

Team Cherry did not reveal a release date, but Xbox executive Sarah Bond said every game on display today will be released within the next 12 months.
Redfall game looks sick
Arkane revealed Redfall, a collaborating vampire sniper, at last year’s E3 with a movie trailer. The studio finally showed the first taste of public gaming today. Definitely looks more action-oriented than the studio’s other games, Prey and Dishonored. Each character seems to have its own set of powers. one can become invisible, one can strike enemies with an electric shock, one can have debts (but has motor skills, so, fair trade?). Redfall was originally scheduled for release in the summer of 2022, but, along with Starfield, was postponed to the first half of 2023.
Forza Motorsport races on Xbox next spring
Forza Motorsport is the tightest cousin of Forza Horizon 5, the racer who shook the world for a while last fall. Instead of an open world, it is a more traditional arcade racing game, with an emphasis on limited racetracks. Developer Turn 10 Studios says it’s “the most technically advanced racing game ever made.” Based on these graphics, which were attributed to the engine … yes, I can not disagree there! It will be released next spring for Xbox and PC.
Forza Horizon 5 acquires Hot Wheels expansion
The. It looks. Bananas!!! Forza Horizon 5 was already one of the most fun racing games. The Hot Wheels extension, which seems to include some really realistic loop-de-loops, is even more banana. It is available on July 19, 2022.

Obsidian makes a detective story
The obsidian has more irons in the fire than a blacksmith. The respectable RPG studio also develops Pentiment, a two-dimensional adventure game with an emphasis on the detective game and a painting style of art. The original shots make it look a bit like Disco Elysium: Renaissance Faire Edition. Released in November.
The full release of Grounded will be released in September
Also from Obsidian: Grounded, the studio’s rendition of Honey I Shrunk the Kids, will be released in full in September. Obsidian did not publish a specific date. The game has been in early access for quite some time. Lots of bugs (literally, because you’re too young to make insects … you know what? It doesn’t matter).
Persona is coming to the Xbox
Historically, the 700-hour Persona Atlus role-playing series can not be played on the Xbox. That changes with the upcoming releases of Persona 3, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal, the last of which is available on October 21st. (The other two do not have set dates.)
Hideo Kojima makes an Xbox game
Hideo Kojima, the main creative figure behind Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding, is developing a game for the Xbox. It will reportedly take advantage of Xbox raids on cloud technology. Kojima did not reveal details about the game. Last week, rumors surrounding Overdose, a game being developed by Kojima, sparked rumors. Kojima himself allegedly tried to get the site that originally published the news to pull the article.
A Plague Tale: Requiem looks more like A Plague Tale
Who knew a game so rough could be so great? Despite all the rats and guts, the stealth adventure game of Asobo A Plague Tale: Requiem is easily one of the most impressive games on the horizon. It comes out this year.
Flintlock is a thought-provoking action game
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is a third person action game with magic, weapons, axes and the best weapon of all: double jumps. However, unfortunately, you have to fight the wild turkeys, so it will probably be tough AF. It is scheduled for 2023.
Scorn is finally out
Scorn, a twice-delayed horror game, finally has a release date: October 21, 2022. Based on HR Giger’s psychologically destructive work of art, Scorn is a first-person shooter, which means it’s a nightmare factory. I’m already trembling!

Ara: History Untold is a new computer strategy game
Give me everything that Shohreh Aghdashloo of Mass Effect tells and you will have my attention. Well, yes, the turn-based Ara strategy game caught my eye. But I will reserve my judgment until the studio reveals the gameplay.
Elder Scrolls Online acquires High Isle expansion
There is no news on Elder Scrolls VI, but the Elder Scroll MMO is getting a High Isle-based DLC, which Bethesda’s Pete Hines has noted that he has not previously appeared in an Elder Scrolls game. Released on June 21, 2022 for Xbox and PC.

When the next remake of Blizzard’s loot game is released, it will feature crossplay on PC, Xbox and PlayStation. Necromancer is a new category for Diablo IV. The isometric loot hunting game will also include more than 150 dungeons. Blizzard says the mission of the final story is just the beginning of the game. Aman …
Lightyear Frontier is another robot farming game
There’s Lightyear, the story of Buzz Lightyear, and then there’s Lightyear Frontier, a first-person farm and craft game where you try to survive on an exoplanet. It will be released next year.
Dibs playing Cocoon
The Cocoon, made by one of Limbo’s designers, looks great and moody and … from top to bottom? Ha. Released by Annapurna, scheduled for release in 2023 and already has my attention.
The Last Case of Benedict Fox is another side-scrolling platformer
The Last Case of Benedict Fox is an atmospheric side-scrolling action platformer. However, it is not one of the 100 Limbo-likes in development at the moment, as it seems to be faster and not the melancholy bona fides that define this subspecies. The Last Case will be released next year.

The creator of Rick and Morty has a shooter in the works
Maybe it’s just me, but so far, Rick and Morty’s special humor race has lost its charm to me. But if that’s your issue, then the High on Life alien shooter should be on your radar. It will be released in October for Xbox and PC and will be released on Game Pass.
