Roman Campbell tried to force his way into Shanghai Mong in New York City around 2 a.m. on June 4, Sunaba Yi, whose parents own the restaurant, told The Independent. Roman Cambell was fired from his job at Credit Suisse after allegedly starting a drunken brawl at a Koreatown restaurant. (Sunaba Yi) Ms. Yi’s mother, Jane Yi, explained that the toilets were for customers only, but he refused to leave and became aggressive and began recording her on his cell phone, he said. Ms. Yi said her mother was frightened and started filming him back, so Mr. Cambell tried to grab her phone. Surveillance footage posted on the internet shows Mr. Campbell walking past her and entering a kitchen area at the back of the restaurant as two friends try to persuade him to leave. “He said he wanted to talk to the director and he said he would wait for the police to show up,” Ms Yi said. Mr. Campbell then got into an argument with a waiter who tried to remove him from the restaurant. Ms Yi told the Independent that the banker had thrown about 10 punches at Jose Morales’ server. Several police officers arrived at the restaurant a few minutes later and Mr Campbell was allowed to leave without being charged, Ms Yi said. A few days after the fight, he posted videos on Instagram and TikTok in an attempt to locate the man. The post went viral and Ms Yi said she had been contacted by several Credit Suisse staffers who confirmed his identity. In a statement to The Independent, a spokeswoman said: “Credit Suisse is aware of the social media complaints that have been made out of ownership and are not related to Credit Suisse. “Credit Suisse maintains and pursues a policy that condemns discrimination, intimidation or violence of any kind.” Ms Yi said both her mother and Mr Morales had been injured in the incident. She said her parents feared Mr Campbell would try to return to their restaurant. Ms Yi, who works at the restaurant on weekends, said she had contacted NYPD detectives who were investigating. The NYPD said in a statement that police were called to report a verbal altercation between a man who asked to use the restaurant’s toilet and a 28-year-old male victim who tried to remove him from the site. “The person punched the victim who was not injured and was not treated as a result. “There was no arrest at the time of the incident,” said a NYPD spokesman.
