A man from New York is wanted in connection with two unprovoked stabbings in the subway that took place within 24 hours, the authorities said on Saturday. Donny Umbiera, 32, of Queens, allegedly stabbed a large knife and cut a 62-year-old man in the face and right arm on a train heading south at around 8:40 a.m. Friday, police said. Police said Ubiera had approached the victim and was not provoked. After the crash, police said they got off the train at Queensboro Plaza Station and fled on foot to Queens Plaza North. The second unprovoked attack took place around 7:15 a.m. Saturday on the platform of line 7 of the train heading north, according to police. Ubiera allegedly pulled out a large knife, approached a 55-year-old man and stabbed him in the neck.
