(Image credit: Xbox Game Studios) Growing Doubts About “Avowed” Appearing on Xbox & Bethesda Showcase As the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase is only a few hours away, we are beginning to better understand which Xbox titles could be present at today’s event. Avowed, the latest new IP from Obsidian Entertainment, was among the top performers at the show, with a few details from its unveiling in 2020. It now seems increasingly likely that the sci-fi RPG will not make it to this year’s show. Yesterday we discussed rumors that Avowed could bypass this year’s Xbox & Bethesda Showcase – much to the chagrin of RPG fans. In a deleted Twitter post, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier states that Avowed has undergone “some reboots and changed directors very recently”, implying that the title will not be ready soon. Without having any information about his presence from Microsoft, it may be worthwhile to lower your expectations before the show starts. Update: This post has been updated to reflect the deletion of Schreier’s tweet. – Matt Brown 2022-06-12T13: 31: 06.245Z How to watch the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase starts later today at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT / 6 p.m. BST, with live streaming available for real-time announcements. (Image credit: Matt Brown | Windows Central) Morning and welcome to the third day of our live coverage at the Xbox & Bethesda Toy Show. We are now less than 12 hours away from the big event, where Microsoft and various third-party studios will detail what Xbox fans can expect in 2022 and 2023. as soon as the live show starts, so you do not miss anything. For those of you who just joined us, the Microsoft event remains largely hidden, possibly allowing for some unexpected appearances during the 95-minute show. We understand that Bethesda’s upcoming RPG, Starfield will play a prominent role with an extensive game demo. Forza Motorsport, Redfall and other Microsoft properties should also be present, with the company committing to at least five new games over the next 12 months. The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase could also hold surprises, from a reported deal with respected developer Hideo Kojima to a planned revival of the Banjo Kazooie platform series. We also know that Microsoft plans to store some news for an “extended” report scheduled for the same time on June 14th. Take part in the discussion and tell us what you hope to see through Windows Central Discord. – Matt Brown 2022-06-12T04: 53: 04.100Z

(Image credit: ATLUS) More rumors abound: Did you confess to skipping the show? Persona to fill in? Following new rumors about Banjo Kazooie or Hideo Kojima Overdose, we now have even more exciting features as we get closer to the Xbox show. Journalist Tom Henderson, who shares a wealth of insights into the video game industry, answered a live stream of questions yesterday. While he strongly emphasized that he was deliberately vague and did not want to spoil the show, some of his answers could be interpreted (at least loosely) as hints as to what to expect and what not to expect. He said he “swore” not to mention games that bypass the showcase, which could be a joke that RPG Avowed would not show up, although it could also be seen as just fun trolling. However, Henderson more definitively suggested Death Stranding’s Hideo Kojima and Metal Gear’s fame to be on the show, just to announce that he was working with the Xbox. There are growing indications that the Hideo leaked horror game “Overdose” may be linked to the Xbox, following previous rumors that Kojima is indeed working with Microsoft. Tempting for JRPG fans, Henderson also answered questions about Persona by saying, “I do not want to leak the entire show,” while hesitating with a laugh. Could this be a hint that Sega’s Atlus team has finally decided to play well with the Xbox? I want to believe. Finally, an account that leaked the recent PlayStation State of Play as a whole made it clear that Overwatch 2 would be free to play. Given Microsoft’s relationship with Activision Blizzard, we may see a taste of it in the report, but Overwatch 2 is gearing up for its own live stream of revelations later next week. Only 12 hours left to find out what is in the store. – Jazz Corden 2022-06-11T22: 58: 44.001Z

(Image credit: Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc.) Hideo Kojima is reportedly revealing the Xbox horror game on the Xbox Showcase While the focus of the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase is on their respective teams, it also looks like Microsoft could reveal an unexpected collaboration this week. Many reports point to an unannounced deal between the software giant and Kojima Productions, with the development of an exclusive Xbox project by the Japanese studio. With the development led by Hideo Kojima, a respected figure in the industry, the collaboration alone would be huge for the Xbox brand. The title would mark the studio’s second project as an independent team, following the release of Death Stranding in 2019 and Konami’s previous work on Metal Gear games. Death Stranding was an exclusive PlayStation 4 release title, followed by PS5 and PC versions. Reports of the deal first appeared in 2021, stating that Microsoft wants to publish the next project by Kojima Productions, incorporating technologies from the company’s Azure cloud services. The play is called “Overdose” according to a recent report by TryHardGuides, which uses the horror genre and stars Margaret Qualley. The agency later reported that Kojima Productions requested that the report be removed, citing the details attached. It is unclear whether Hideo Kojima or “Overdose” will appear this Sunday, although many stores now say some form of agreement has been reached. But if Microsoft takes the stage with a collaboration with Kojima, and it seems more and more likely, what appears will undoubtedly be the highlight of the show. – Matt Brown 2022-06-11T20: 32: 55.549Z

(Image: Future) The Future Games Show 2022 unveiled more upcoming Xbox India It’s not the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, but there was still plenty to excite Xbox gamers during GamesRadar’s Future Games Show 2022. The event was full from start to finish with upcoming indie games and some seemed truly incredible. One game, Turbo Golf Racing, goes to the Xbox and PC Game Pass on the first day, while other interesting Xbox-related games such as The Entropy Center, The Last Faith, Serial Cleaners, Arctic Awakening and Planet of Lana have acquired new trailer and gameplay shot. The Future Games Show 2022 was a good harbinger of the major releases expected from the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, especially for fans of unique indie titles. – Zachary Boddy 2022-06-11T18: 06: 14.095Z

(Image credit: Microsoft) Banjo Kazooie will appear on the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, the report says Could we see Banjo Kazooie in the show? This is on the cards according to the game developer and YouTuber ModernVintageGaming (also known as MVG). Speaking on the Nate The Hate podcast, MVG claimed without certainty that the favorite franchise platforming Banjo Kazooie will be present on the show in some form. “Banjo will be on this show and it will be announced. I’ve talked to a lot of people, I’m not knowledgeable, I’m a programmer. But sometimes I hear things and I was at GDC earlier this year and there were some people talking about Banjo.” MVG continued “something is wrong with Banjo, what I can not tell you is this.” Microsoft clearly intends to bring Banjo back somehow, otherwise I do not think fans would have competed with the bird and bear in Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch. Microsoft has not shied away from diving back into its IP directory, admitting it wants to do “something” with the idle combat franchise Killer Instinct, while investing heavily in restarting Age of Empires. I have not heard anything about this particular rumor in my end, but that does not mean it is not possible. I give this reputation 3 shrimp at 5. 🍤🍤🍤 – Jez Corden 2022-06-11T17: 23: 37.284Z We are now less than 24 hours away from the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, where Microsoft and its partners will spend an hour and a half discussing the future of the Xbox. However, Microsoft’s biggest announcements remain hidden, with no significant leaks circulating before the report. (Image credit: Microsoft) Preparing for Xboxmas It was the night before Xboxmas, and all over the house … nothing was mixed up, not even an RGB mouse. I’m your favorite Xbox processor here at Windows Central, preparing for a weekend of previews, news bursts, and honest marketing. That’s right, it’s the E3 season again (don’t call it E3, though), with the big Xbox and the Bethesda Showcase. For once, I really do not know what will happen in the report, as I pointed out in the Xbox & Bethesda previews earlier this week. I know some things that will definitely not happen. Definitely should not …
