A former British soldier has reportedly been killed fighting for Ukraine in the eastern city of Sievierodonetsk. Jordan Gatley was recently shot and killed in the eastern part of Donbass, his father said in a touching Facebook post on Saturday. “Jordan left the British Army in March this year to pursue a career as a soldier in other areas. “The war against Europe had begun and, after careful consideration, he went to Ukraine to help,” said his family. “He was truly a hero and will forever be in our hearts,” they added. His death comes as Russia tries to use its artillery supremacy to its advantage in its attack on Sievirodonetsk, according to the British Ministry of Defense (MoD). The latest military intelligence report added that the Kremlin was probably preparing to deploy all three brigades of certain brigades to operations at the same time. Usually, one stays in the reserve. “Third Battalions within brigades are often not fully staffed – Russia will probably have to rely on newly recruited or mobilized reservists to deploy these units in Ukraine,” the Foreign Ministry said.

There is no reason to pardon the British who have been sentenced to death, says pro-Russian separatist leader
There is no reason to pardon two Britons who were sentenced to death for fighting for Ukraine, said the leader of the Russian-backed Donetsk Autonomous Region (DPR). Britain’s Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner – and Moroccan Brahim Saadoun – made the decision earlier this week after being accused of being “mercenaries”. “I see no reason, no conditions, to make such a decision for the sake of it,” said Dennis Pushilin, a leader in the breakaway region of Donetsk. The international community has beaten the ruling of an GDR court, which is recognized only by Russia. Mr Ashlin’s family said he and Piner “are not and have never been mercenaries” and that they were “members of the Ukrainian armed forces”. They therefore called on Russia to respect the Geneva Convention by treating them as prisoners of war. Rory Sullivan June 12, 2022 3:05 PM 1655040418
Turkey’s concerns over ‘terrorism’ are legitimate, says NATO Secretary-General
When Finland and Sweden applied to join NATO last month over security concerns about Russia, Turkey decided to oppose the move. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused them of harboring “terrorists”. Speaking of the stalemate, Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary-General, said such concerns were legitimate, noting that no NATO member had suffered more terrorist attacks than Turkey. The Czech Foreign Minister criticized Macron for Putin’s comment
The Czech Foreign Minister criticized French President Emmanuel Macron for saying that Vladimir Putin should not be “humiliated” if he wants peace in Ukraine. “Macron probably does not understand the issue very well,” said Jan Lipowski. “Putin is not interested in how they perceive Russia in the West,” he added. The Macron government tried to quell criticism earlier this week by insisting it did not want to make any concessions to Russia. Rory Sullivan June 12, 2022 2:26 PM 1655038827

Hundreds of Ukrainian corpses remain in Mariupol, says the former commander
The bodies of many Ukrainian soldiers remain in Mariupol, said the former head of the Azov National Guard regiment. Maksym Zhorin said 220 bodies from the Azovstal steel plant had been sent to Kyiv, but added that “all the bodies are still in Mariupol”. “Talks are continuing for further exchanges, so that all the bodies can be returned home. “Absolutely all the bodies have to be returned and that is something we will work on,” he said. Hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers have been hiding for months at the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol, where they made their last stop before surrendering last month. Lewis condemns death sentence given to British by pro-Russian separatists
Brandon Lewis, the United Kingdom’s Northern Ireland minister, has criticized the pro-Russian separatist’s decision to sentence two Britons who were captured for fighting in Ukraine to death. Speaking to Sky News on Sunday, he said: “I really believe he supports what we have all seen in this disgusting process that followed Putin in connection with an unjustified attack on Ukraine in the general way the Putin regime operates. “She is really disgusting.” Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner remain in prison in the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic. Ukrainian teenager greeted “hero”
A Ukrainian teenager praised as a hero by his country spoke about how he helped locate a Russian motorcade near Kyiv earlier in the war. Andriy Pokrasa, 15, used his drone to locate his exact coordinates before sending them to the Ukrainian army. “These were some of the scariest moments of my life,” the teen said. “We gave the photos and the location to the armed forces. “They reduced the coordinates more precisely and transmitted them with a walkie-talkie, so that they could adjust the artillery,” he said. A total of 20 Russian military vehicles were destroyed, the 15-year-old added. Rory Sullivan June 12, 2022 12:23 PM 1655031444
Russia will “rely” on new recruits, says the United Kingdom
Vladimir Putin’s generals “will probably have to rely” on newly recruited or mobilized reservists as the war continues in eastern Ukraine, the United Kingdom has said. As fierce fighting continues around the city of Sievierodonetsk, Russia is trying to use its artillery advantage to its advantage, according to the latest military assessment by the British Ministry of Defense (MoD). Typically, senior Kremlin officers commit only two of their three battalions to operations at a time. However, it is expected that Russia will soon use all three. “Third Battalions within brigades are often not fully staffed – Russia will probably have to rely on newly recruited or mobilized reservists to deploy these units in Ukraine,” the UK said. Ukraine is establishing grain export routes through Poland and Romania
Ukraine has managed to establish two food export routes through Poland and Romania, as Russia continues to block Ukrainian ports, Kyiv said. Dmytro Senik, the Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister, said that Russia is endangering global food security with its actions. Speaking about land routes, he said: “These routes are not perfect because they create some bottlenecks, but we do the best we can to develop these routes in the meantime.” Ukraine is the fourth largest exporter of cereals in the world. As millions of tonnes of its crops cannot be extracted, experts have warned that famine and starvation will become more prevalent around the world. Rory Sullivan June 12, 2022 11:12
