The British businessman and businesswoman died in Morocco on Saturday after a long illness, her public relations agent confirmed on Sunday. Ms. Devey became OBE in 2013 for services in the transportation and charitable sectors. She was known for her appearance on the BBC long-running investment show Dragons’ Den before leaving to present Channel 4’s The Intern series. My thoughts are with her family.” Ms. Devey made her fortune by launching Pall-Ex, a palletized merchandise network, which has evolved into an international network with a combined turnover of over λι 100 million. He appeared in Dragons’ Den between 2011 and 2013 along with other investors Peter Jones, Theo Paphitis, Duncan Bannatyne and Deborah Meaden. Commenting on her role in 2011, Ms Devey said she was proud to “do my part” to support the next generation of UK entrepreneurs “at a time when banks are failing to invest in British small businesses”. He added: “To create Pall-Ex in the mid-1990s, I had to sell my house and car to get the initial capital needed to fulfill my business ambitions, as none of the banks did not appreciate my potential. “I would love to have the opportunity to stand before the Dragons and remember my own experiences and the realities of running a business today when I choose to support – or reject – the budding entrepreneurs who will join me in Den.” Ms. Devey has also campaigned for various charities, including serving as vice president of The Carers Trust, as well as patron of The Stroke Association and Fresh Start – New Beginnings.
