Always-On-Display is a smartphone feature that allows your device to continue displaying limited information even when the phone is in sleep mode, which is widely available on Android smartphones. As found by 9to5Mac, there are many reports that this upgrade is available in iOS 16 code, including a reference to something called Springboard, which Apple uses to manage the lock screen.
