Marvel calls the new movie “The More Fun Stuff Version” and says it will be released to celebrate Spider-Man’s 60th anniversary in comics. Oh yes, and it’s the 20th anniversary of Toby Maguire’s debut in Spider-Man’s first film (do you feel old?). Spider-Man: No Way Home does not really look like all the other Spider-Man movies in the franchise, specifically because all three Spider-Men (Spider-Mans?) End up at crossroads. That’s why it makes more sense for Marvel and Sony to bring the film back to theaters on the occasion of Spider-Man’s anniversary – as opposed to what both companies did with Morbius when they re-released the film due to a meme (RIP). Tickets go on sale on August 9, with Marvel announcing “soon” dates for other countries. If you haven’t seen Spider-Man: No Way Home when it first hit theaters, this is (probably) your last chance to see it on the big screen. Updated June 11, 20:43 ET: Updated to clarify that Sony has distributed Morbius and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
