On April 13, Sigma Alpha Epsilon New Hampshire Beta hosted an event at its home with new members of the fraternity. Five days later, the university notified authorities of an alleged storm incident that arose from the incident. According to police, the investigation concluded that there was “a possible cause for the Student Hazing crime”. Arrest warrants for 46 members of the organization, as well as for the SAE New Hampshire Beta, were issued on June 7, police said. The students’ lesson is a misdemeanor and the accused members of the fraternity could face a fine of $ 1,200 if found guilty, while the fraternity itself can face a fine of up to $ 20,000. As of Friday, 10 members had been arrested: Seth Burdick, Benjamin Chase, Robert Doherty, Daniel Faciol, Charles Farah, Robert Hardy, Jr., Oliver Zack, Gabriel Quann, and Mason Peacock Mason. They were released with salmon and will appear in court on July 13. Police did not identify the other 36 accused in the incident. In a statement to CBS News, the university said it had suspended the fraternity during the investigation. “We take any allegation of malice very seriously and now that the police investigation is complete, we will begin a formal conduct process,” the statement said. The Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity Service Center said in a statement on Saturday that it was aware of the incident and was cooperating fully with the investigation. “As soon as the alleged incident was reported, SAE immediately issued a pause and cut of the capital, launched our own investigation and informed the management of the University of New Hampshire,” he said. “SAE’s investigation was stopped after being informed of the start of a police investigation.” “Sigma Alpha Epsilon denounces all acts of confusion and misconduct that do not represent the values of the Brotherhood defined by our faith, the True Lord,” the statement added.
